I'm Dr. Rashiah Elam, an Integrative Physician Board Certified in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine.

Before I could talk, I knew I wanted to be a doctor. I fulfilled that dream and attended Cornell University's Medical College and completed training at New York's Montefiore Hospital residency in Social and Family Medicine.

I've practiced in metropolitan New York City and the Hudson Valley of New York, in a variety of clinical settings and hospitals, including Mt. Sinai, Montefiore, Albert Einstein College of Medicine and St John's Riverside Hospital for 15 years.

A personal habit of making heart over head choices rooted in passion, led to seemingly fortuitous foresight in career moves and I sub-specialized in the exploding fields of addiction, integrative medicine and virtual/tele- medicine.

I now balance caring for patients in my private practice with my role as the founding medical director for the Lexington Center for Recovery, the Hudson Valley's largest treatment program providing Holistic Substance Use Treatment, falling deeper in love with my life's work one patient encounter at a time.

Our Patients Are Saying...

Mom's Hug

"Dr. Rashiah Elam provided me an exceptional experience. The atmosphere felt safe and comfortable. She was very thorough and made sure I understood everything. I also appreciated that she called to checkup to see if everything that I got was working for me! Truly an EXCEPTIONAL doctor! Customer/Patient for life!!!"

Friends Drinking Coffee

"Going to see Dr. Elam is like going to see a very wise friend. She listens deeply, asks insightful questions and led me to look for answers using my own 'inner Google.' Instead of thinking about what medicine or solution she was going to give me, it felt like we were working together towards healing."
